It's hard to believe that June is here and summertime begins this month. As children my brother and I would make the trip on Delta from San Francisco to Jacksonville. We stayed with our grandparents for part of the Summer. They were saints, we were lucky kids and Saint Augustine became dear to our hearts.
Many of the homes in old Florida had rooms which were basically enclosed porches with lots windows and doors that opened onto a yard, garden or sometimes a deck. Recently I was asked to write about my take on decorating a Florida room. First thing that came to mind are palms, rattan furniture and Lilly Pulitzer. I used photographs of Saint Augustine and Jack's beach that I took to inspire the color palette. Thanks for stopping by gardenrooms and happy June!
