Chrysanthemum is actually a derivative of two greek words, chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower). Wild mums are perennial plants that can be used in tea. These lovely little florets were orginally culitvated in China and then brought to Japan. The Japanese celebrate the festival of happiness with this flower as a symbol. A modern day use of this plant suggests it reduces indoor air pollution. Hmm I know what I'm getting for my house this weekend!
