Transition

I like the transitions in this photograph. From flagstone to wood stairs to indoor hardwood to outside deck and then the expansiveness of the Ocean. Wonderful image cote ouest.

Abbot Kinney

Abbot Kinney was a developer and conservationist from the East Coast. Best known for his 'Venice of America' development circa 1905 in Los Angeles. We were in Venice recently and the shops on 'Abbot Kinney' are delightful.

Chinese Garden

We were at Chinese Garden a few weeks ago and it was oh so charming. Here are a few photos that I took of our outing. I learned about the 3 friends of Winter. The plum - braves the cold of winter, the bamboo- bends in winter storms but does not break and the pine- stays green throughout the winter. There was a gentleman in the tea house softly playing his stringed instrument while we enjoyed delicious almond cookies and white tea.
