Edible San Francisco has a great article about kid's food. Teachers in the Bay Area are actually teaching children how to grow their own food and embrace nature. see photos below. Finally "green school yards". A subject dear to my heart. Alice Waters has an amazing book out now as well, Edible Schoolyard.

Adam's Garden

I recently helped a friend redesign his garden for outdoor entertaining. He was very handy building the herb boxes, putting in the lighting and the overall concept.  Adam's business in SF is called entertainingspaces. They design and install audio and vedio solutions, and also have a very cool space to rent out for parties with a theatre. Adam writes a food blog at epicureanzealot.com, I'd love to have write him a post or 2 as a guest on gardenrooms.

The New Southern Living

Recently I was sent a first bound copy of the new Southern Living Magazine. First I have to say that I have an affinity for the South having spent many summers there as a child with my brother.We did all the typical southern things... made ice cream, sat out on the porch swing and of course we'd go swimming in the springs. Our grandparents were lovely to us and my affection for those lingering summer days is still close to my heart. In fact my love of gardens began there. Having said that, it is with certainty that I can say the new format is well integrated and represents the south perfectly. Let me present to you some of the pretty pages from this first bound copy of Southern Living Magazine. Enjoy!
