Just back from Nashville where I worked with an interior designer friend Ian Stallings and one of my daughters, Taylor on a design job. I typically stick to garden design but when a childhood friend bought a loft werthanlofts.com in an old cotton mill, it beckoned me there. After months of planning, we arrived on a Monday afternoon and completely had the loft set up and ready to live in by Thursday afternoon of the same week. An interesting little tidbit is that my friend Julia had been working as a PA on a compound in Afghanistan for several years and her things had been in boxes the entire time. We unpacked the endless amount of boxes and to our delight and surprise, there were gorgeous textiles, carpets, art and treasures that fit into the concept we had for her. Below are some photos of the rooms. There is a tiny little terrace that faces downtown.

How beautiful! It makes you want to go live in a loft!

I love the volume of the space with the wonderful natural light that filters in. The brick and arches juxtaposed next to the smooth textured wall makes for a stunning contrast.
