Ode to a Spring Dish
Beautiful women of leisure
Use pan and tray as the Earth
In composing flowers into a precious object
[The arrangement's] forest is graceful
Blossoms compete in budding forth
Each plant, each leaf
Achieves the spirit of Nature.
Over the years Flowers eventually became recognized as the very symbol of beauty.
True beginnings in the 6th dynasties period.
Yuan Hung Tao 1562-1610
"Flowers vitality arises from a sort of adroit energy existing between heaven and earth".
This is what the Ching Dynasty was referring to when Fung Shih-Shu 1692-1751 said
"Blue Mountains, elegant trees
Lively water, broad stones
Create their own unique existence
Outside this Heaven and Earth".
